Ichi® PEEK polymer has successfully replaced glass, stainless steel and other metals in a growing range of medical applications where it provides cost-effective, innovative parts with outstanding wear, heat, electrical and chemical resistance.
For surgical and dental instruments that require extensive repeat use, inherently pure, Ichi® PEEK polymer can withstand up to 3,000 autoclave sterilisation cycles in which temperatures typically reach 134°C. This semi-crystalline material maintains high mechanical strength, excellent stress cracking resistance and hydrolytic stability in the presence of hot water, steam, solvents and chemicals.
